Client’s Rights & Responsibilities
All Volunteering Gold Coast Transport Services’ clients have the right to:
- be treated with respect and courtesy
- be informed and give your views
- be part of the decision-making about your service
- receive a quality service
- privacy and confidentiality
- use an advocate
- make a complaint
All Volunteering Gold Coast Transport Services’ clients have the following responsibilities:
- treat staff, including volunteers, with respect and courtesy
- provide reasonable notice if the service is no longer required
- utilise seatbelts and other safety devices as directed by staff and volunteers
- respect the confidentiality of information on other clients
- take responsibility for the results of any decisions they make
- provide feedback if they are unhappy with the service
My Aged Care
My Aged Care is the Australian Government’s portal to access a range of aged care services. You will need to undergo an assessment to determine if you are eligible to utilise our transport services and we recommend you call us on 07 5526 5288 prior to contacting them so we can provide you with assistance.
Australian Community Transport Association (ACTA)
The Australian Community Transport Association is the national peak body for the Community Transport sector. They are a coalition of state and territory peak bodies working together for the greater good of Community Transport users and providers.
To support and assist not-for-profit organisations successfully host events, Volunteering Services Australia, an initiative of Volunteering Gold Coast Inc., has developed an Events Toolkit. Funded by the Department of Social Services the easy to understand 10 step process provides organisations and individuals with the information and confidence to run events. For all fundraising events and donation drives held in our honour the Events Toolkit, valued at $200, will be provided free of charge. Volunteering Services Australia
An initiative of Volunteering Gold Coast Inc., Volunteering Services Australia is the largest volunteer resource centre in Australia. Specialising in volunteer recruitment and management, improvement of volunteer retention, and increased volunteer sustainability, Volunteering Services Australia services more than 300 not-for-profit and community groups through volunteer referral, training and events. Volunteering Services Australia, an initiative of Volunteering Gold Coast, has created a learning platform which provides volunteers with a deep understanding of the key aspects of volunteering. Comprised of three modules that can be completed online, volunteers also have the option to complete a 20 hour placement. Assessment will take place upon completion and successful volunteers will receive a Certificate CHCVOL001 Become an Effective Volunteer. A Driver Authorisation is a qualification a driver of a vehicle providing a public passenger service must attain and maintain. Its purpose is to maximise public confidence in public passenger service in relation to the drivers of public passenger vehicles. All Volunteering Gold Coast Transport Services drivers are required to hold a Driver Authorisation and we offer assistance to our volunteers to obtain them.
