The New Formula for Success on the World Stage with Dame Quentin Bryce

Dame Quentin Bryce AD CVO, patron of Volunteering Services Australia, was joined by Gold Coast business leaders for a thought provoking lunch on Thursday, 15th of September.

Ms Bryce held an informal conversation with respected author and journalist M.C. Madonna King, discussing volunteering in the community and its legacy, thought leadership, innovation and change.

Using her personal experience as a volunteer and leader Ms Bryce inspired and challenged the way of thinking in the room.

Volunteering Services Australia, CEO Richard Patterson said Ms Bryce provided valuable insight into volunteering and its importance in the community.

"As former Governor General and advocate for a number of causes, Ms Bryce was able to explain the value of volunteering through her own personal experience and what she had witnessed throughout her career."

"She also stressed the importance of volunteering moving forward and its legacy in the lead up to and after the Commonwealth Games."

Volunteering Services Australia was joined by a hundred of the Gold Coast's business leaders including representatives from Bond University, Southern Cross Austero, Gold Coast University Hospital, Stride Learning, Classic Holidays, Sunshine Motive and Austbrokers Coast to Coast.

"The support from a number of leading national and international businesses in the room demonstrates the significance of volunteering in the community and recognition of the $19.4 billion it contributes to the Australian economy."

"We look forward to continuing to work with thought-leaders and prominent businesses, as we develop strong initiatives to support volunteering and further its legacy nationwide."
