Our fleet of 27 vehicles provides an environmentally friendly and affordable means of transport for those in need and helps ease congestion on our roads. All vehicles are serviced in accordance with strict governance, and maintained and looked after by volunteer valets at our Miami office.
In recognition of the growing need for additional transport resources, Sunshine Kia kindly donated three vehicles to the Volunteering Gold Coast Transport Services fleet. You can read about their generosity in our News section.
West Moreton South Coast Community Transport Consortium
In 2005, Volunteering Gold Coast Transport Services had only two vehicles and a handful of part-time volunteer drivers and office staff. Initially, it provided shared transport for clients in the same areas through a Shoppers Club, transporting them to their local Gold Coast shops.
This small transport helpline was subsequently replaced by the current Transport Consortium, which pooled local resources to avoid duplication of services and meet the increased demand. The Consortium was an instant success, rapidly expanding its operations throughout the West Moreton and South Coast funding areas.
Members of the Transport Consortium can access funding for additional transport services to eligible clients if their organisation doesn't have the resources to do so, giving clients more options for transport. Funds can be accessed in the form of bus driver hours, travel cost reimbursements for volunteers using their own vehicles, and taxi fare cards for clients requiring out-of-hours transport.
There are currently 11 active members servicing the needs of the West Moreton and South Coast regions, however, we welcome any enquiries to join the Transport Consortium.
We encourage you to find out more about the great work our Partnership Organisations are doing in the community and support them in any way you can.
