Our Patron Dame Quentin Bryce

In April 2015, we were delighted to announce the 'Honourable Dame Quentin Bryce', former Governor-General of Australia and former Governor of Queensland, as the organisation's first Patron.

In 2008, following a notable career as an Academic, Lawyer, Community and Human Rights Advocate, Senior Public Officer, University College Principal and Vice-Regal Representative in Queensland and Australia, Dame Quentin Bryce was sworn in as Australia's twenty-fifth Governor-General and the first woman in the role.

Dame Quentin Bryce believes, "Volunteering plays an important role in strengthening the community through the support and promotion of sustainable and equitable volunteering" As a strong advocate for volunteering, Dame Quentin Bryce insists, "It is vitally important to recognise the kindness and enthusiasm of our volunteers, as without them many not-for-profit organisations would fail to deliver the breadth of service the community requires."
